A photographer is suing Nigerian entertainer Innocent “Tuface” Idibia and his manager, Anthonio Anifite, and his wife, Annie Idibia, for allegedly not paying for his services after he was hired to photograph the recent traditional wedding of the “Rainbow” singer in Akwa Ibom State.
The Abuja-based photographer, Emmanuel Okolo, who owns Papilonmexy studios is suing for N100 million in general damages and N20 million in exemplary damages.
The trial started on Friday, but neither Tuface nor his wife Annie were present for the court case.
Okolo was present with is lawyer J.O. Uttute.
According to the Vanguard, the defendants have been served with a writ of summon in which Okolo claimed that Tuface’s wife hired his services through a third party, a Ms. Chineze Anyaene to take photos of the traditional wedding of the celebrity couple in March 2013.
He claims he reluctantly accepted the job offer and was asked by Annie Idibia to print 10 high resolution photographs.
Justice Mohammed Idris of the Federal High Court in Lagos has fixed October 16 for the commencement of the trial involving the popular musician.
There has been no official statement from his camp.
